We come to your house, apartment complex, office parking lot, or wherever the car happens to be sitting. Nothing gets dropped off and you don't drive anywhere. We bring our own water, power and every product, so all you need is roughly the space of a parking spot around the vehicle — a driveway, a carport or a curbside spot all work. Apartment and HOA properties are fine; we have worked in most of the complexes in Eastlake and Otay Ranch and know which ones need a heads-up to management first. Yes — Eastlake and Otay Ranch are two of our busiest areas, not edge-of-map coverage. We work regularly throughout both, from Eastlake Terraces, The Lake and Rolling Hills Ranch through to Otay Ranch Town Center, Village Walk, Escaya and Eastern Palms. Every service we offer is available there, from a Prime Detail at $110 up to a Platinum nine-year ceramic coating, plus motorcycle detailing. There is no travel surcharge for either neighborhood. Because so much of the housing there is planned communities and apartments, we are used to working in assigned spots, shared garages and guest parking; if your complex requires notice before a vendor comes on site, tell us when you book and we will work around it. Ceramic coating is the one service that needs a shaded or covered space — a garage or carport — because the coating has to cure out of direct sun.

Do I need to pay upfront to book an appointment?

Accepted Answer

No. You book the appointment, we come out and do the work, and you pay once it is finished and you have looked at it. There is no deposit, no card on file and no prepayment on anything we offer — that applies to a $110 Prime Detail exactly as it does to a $1,399 Platinum ceramic coating. We accept cash, credit and debit through Square, and you get a proper receipt. We have run it this way since 2012 for a simple reason: detailing is one of those trades where the result is easy to promise and harder to deliver, and asking someone to pay before they have seen the car puts the risk on the wrong side. If something is not right when we finish, we would rather fix it before money changes hands than argue about a refund afterward.

Five levels of car detailing: Prime Detail from $110 for a maintenance clean, Select Detail from $199, Prestige Detail from $249 for deep interior work, Luxury Interior Restoration from $279 with full shampoo of seats, carpet and headliner, and Elite Protection Detail from $399 with clay bar, machine polish and a nano sealer that lasts about five months. For long-term paint protection there are four ceramic coating tiers — Bronze one-year from $350, Silver three-year, Gold five-year and Platinum nine-year up to $1,399 — each available full-service or exterior-only. We also detail motorcycles, with maintenance from $199 and ceramic protection from $380. On top of Select and Prestige you can add Shine Refresh at $99, Paint Revival at $220, or Ceramic Glow at $350. Standalone extras include headlight restoration, engine bay cleaning, dog hair removal and paint correction by the panel.

We are based in Bonita and work throughout San Diego County as a mobile service. The South Bay is home turf and where we are fastest to reach: Chula Vista, Bonita, National City, Imperial Beach, San Ysidro and Spring Valley. We also work regularly in San Diego proper, Coronado, La Mesa, El Cajon, Lemon Grove and Santee, and travel north to La Jolla, Del Mar, Encinitas, Carlsbad, Poway, Escondido and Oceanside for full detail and ceramic coating jobs. There is no travel surcharge anywhere in the county — the price you see is the price regardless of where you are. For the outlying east county towns we take work case by case, mostly depending on the day's schedule. How is detailing pricing determined?

Three things set the price: which package you pick, the size of the vehicle, and the condition it is in when we arrive. Vehicles fall into three brackets — Sedan/Coupe, SUV/Small Truck, and XXL Truck/SUV 3-Row — and each package is priced per bracket, so a Prime Detail runs $110 on a sedan and $160 on an XXL truck. Condition is the variable that moves things: a heavily soiled interior, embedded pet hair, or paint that has been through years of automatic car washes takes materially more time, and we would rather quote that honestly upfront than surprise you on the day. Across the range, car detailing runs $110 to $550 and ceramic coating $350 to $1,399. Motorcycles are priced by equipment rather than displacement — hard bags, a top case or a full fairing move a bike into the higher bracket. Do you come to my location, or do I drop off the car?

We come to you — there is no shop to drop off at. Everything travels with us: water, power, extraction equipment, compounds, polishers and coatings. That means the work happens in your driveway, your apartment's parking spot, your office lot, or wherever the vehicle is during the day. All we need is roughly a parking space of room around the car so we can open doors and move around it freely. You do not have to be present the whole time; plenty of clients hand over keys and go back to work, and we message you when it is done. The only service with a real constraint is ceramic coating, which needs shade or cover — a garage or carport — because the coating has to cure out of direct sunlight. For everything else, an open driveway is perfectly fine.

What is paint correction and when do I need it?

Accepted Answer

Paint correction is machine polishing that removes defects from the clear coat rather than hiding them. Using a dual-action or rotary polisher and progressively finer compounds, a trained detailer levels a microscopic amount of clear coat until swirl marks, light scratches, water spots and oxidation are physically gone. That is the difference from wax or glaze, which fill defects temporarily and wash back out in a few weeks. The clearest sign you need it is direct sunlight: if your paint looks hazy, dull, or shows fine spiderweb swirls in the sun, that is clear coat damage, and it is almost always from automatic car washes. One-step correction starts at $280 for a sedan and handles most everyday swirling. Multi-step correction is included in our Silver, Gold and Platinum ceramic packages, because a coating locks in whatever is underneath it — correcting the paint first is what makes the coating worth doing.

Does ceramic coating prevent scratches and rock chips?

Accepted Answer

No, and anyone who tells you otherwise is overselling it. Ceramic coating is a hardened semi-permanent layer that resists UV damage, chemical etching, bird droppings, tree sap and water spotting, and makes the surface considerably harder to scratch during normal washing. What it is not is an impact barrier: a rock at freeway speed will still chip through it, and a deep scratch will still reach the clear coat. For genuine rock chip protection the correct product is paint protection film, which is a physical layer rather than a chemical one. Where coating genuinely earns its price is maintenance — water sheets off instead of sitting and spotting, dirt releases with far less contact, and the paint keeps its depth for years instead of months. Our Gold and Platinum packages pair the coating with multi-step paint correction, so what gets sealed in is paint that has already been brought back to flawless.

Can you remove interior stains, pet hair, and odors?

Yes, and it is some of the work we are asked for most. Luxury Interior Restoration, from $279, is the package built for it: full shampoo and hot-water extraction of seats, carpet, headliner and seat belts, followed by odor treatment and disinfection. Pet hair is handled separately because it behaves differently from dirt — it works itself into carpet fibers and needs specialized extraction tools rather than suction alone. That is a $60 add-on on its own, or $100 combined with shampoo. Beach sand, which is the other San Diego classic, is the same at $100 with shampoo. Smoke, spilled milk, mildew and gym odors respond to professional-grade eliminators plus deep extraction, though heavily set-in smoke sometimes needs a second pass. The one thing that genuinely helps: tell us the source and how long it has been there when you book, so we bring the right chemistry and budget the right amount of time.

How long does a typical detailing appointment take?

It depends on the package and the size of the vehicle. A Prime Detail on a sedan runs about an hour; the same package on an XXL truck takes closer to two. Select and Prestige land between an hour and a half and two and a half hours. Luxury Interior Restoration is about two hours, and Elite Protection Detail runs two and a half to three and a half hours depending on vehicle size. Ceramic coating is the long one: Bronze on a sedan takes around three hours, while a Platinum nine-year package with three-step paint correction can occupy most of a day, and sometimes needs to be split across two. Motorcycle work runs two to three hours. We confirm the estimate when you book so you can plan around it. Since we come to you, the time cost is only the car being unavailable — you are not also losing a round trip to a shop.
